DLD Innovation Company Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides the TV Remote mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App and contact us.

1. Information handled by the App

TV and network information

To discover, pair with, and control compatible TVs, the App processes TV names, local IP addresses, device identifiers, model information, connection status, and the time of the last connection. It stores remembered devices and preferences on your device. Pairing tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. The App can retrieve and cache information about applications available on your TV, such as app names, identifiers, and icons.

Remote commands and text you choose to enter through the remote interface are transmitted to the connected TV. These functions communicate over your local network; we do not operate a cloud service that receives your TV commands or pairing tokens.

Photos and videos you select

The App uses Apple’s system photo picker to access the items you choose for casting. It does not require access to your entire photo library. Selected media is copied or prepared in the App’s local cache and made available to your TV through a temporary local HTTP server. Original files may include embedded metadata. We do not upload your selected media to a company cloud server or intentionally provide it to advertising services. If an item is stored in iCloud, Apple’s services may download it to your device before the App can use it.

Preferences and local diagnostics

The App stores settings such as onboarding completion, feedback preferences, and photo display duration on your device. Operational logs may contain connection events, TV names, and error details. Logs you voluntarily send to support become part of your support request.

Support messages

If you contact us, we receive your email address and any information you provide, including your message, device details, screenshots, or attachments. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain support records. Do not send passwords, pairing tokens, or private media unless necessary for your request.

Advertising and service information

Google services integrated into the App process additional information as described below. You do not need to create an account with us to use the App.

2. Advertising and Google services

Google AdMob

The App displays advertising using Google Mobile Ads. Google and participating advertising providers may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, app interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. Processing supports ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and, where permitted by your choices and applicable requirements, personalization. Advertising identifiers are subject to iOS permissions and restrictions. The App does not request precise GPS location for remote control or casting.

Google User Messaging Platform

We use Google’s consent tools to display applicable privacy messages and record advertising choices. When available, open Settings > Legal > Privacy Choices in the App to review or change your choices. Refusing personalization does not necessarily remove ads or all processing needed to serve them. Agreeing to this policy is not a substitute for any separate consent that is required.

Firebase Remote Config

The App uses Firebase to retrieve configuration, including advertising availability and frequency. Firebase processes installation identifiers and technical service information, such as request metadata, to provide this functionality.

Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, Google’s explanation of data use in partner apps, and Firebase Privacy and Security information.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process information to provide TV discovery, pairing, remote control and casting; remember settings; configure and maintain the App; display and measure advertising; respond to requests; prevent misuse; and meet legal obligations.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for requested functionality and related support, legitimate interests for necessary maintenance and security where those interests do not override your rights, compliance with legal obligations, and consent for processing that requires it, including certain advertising activities. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.

4. When information is shared

Information is made available to your selected TV to perform the actions you request. Google and participating ad providers receive the information needed for the services described above. Email and other support providers may process information you send us to help us respond.

We may disclose information we hold when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a merger or transfer of our business, subject to applicable protections and notice requirements.

We do not sell your selected photos, videos, or TV pairing tokens. Some advertising disclosures may qualify as a “sale”, “sharing”, or processing for targeted advertising under certain privacy laws even when no money is paid for the information. Where those laws apply, you may exercise the relevant opt-out rights through available privacy controls or by contacting us.

5. Retention and deletion

Remembered TVs, cached TV app information, and preferences remain locally until removed or replaced by the App or its data is deleted. Deleting the App generally removes its local data, but iOS Keychain items can persist after uninstallation. You can revoke the App’s TV access using your TV’s device or connection management settings; this does not necessarily delete a locally stored token.

Prepared casting files are cached locally. The App attempts to remove them when their playlist items are removed, the playlist is cleared, or a new cast-player session initializes. Cache cleanup may also be performed by iOS. This does not delete the originals in your photo library.

We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, maintain relevant records, address disputes, and satisfy applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion of information we hold about you.

Google applies its own applicable retention rules to advertising and service data. Firebase states that Remote Config installation identifiers are retained until the developer requests deletion, with removal from live and backup systems within 180 days after that request. Uninstalling the App does not itself guarantee deletion of data already received by third parties. Contact us for assistance with requests relating to our use of these services.

6. Your controls and rights

You can revoke local network permission in iOS Settings, choose which media to share through the system picker, remove media from the casting playlist, and use available advertising privacy controls. Revoking local network permission prevents features that need to communicate with your TV.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and may request information reasonably necessary to verify your request. You will not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising these rights. If applicable law grants a right to appeal a denied request, contact us to request a review.

Send requests to contact@dld.asia. We may be unable to identify or retrieve information that exists only on your device, but can explain available local controls.

7. International processing and security

Google and other service providers may process information outside your country, including in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, appropriate transfer safeguards must apply, such as contractual protections or a recognized adequacy mechanism. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

We use reasonable safeguards, including iOS Keychain storage for pairing tokens. No system is completely secure. Local TV protocols, including the HTTP connection used for casting, may be unencrypted. A device on the same network that obtains a casting URL may be able to access the served media while it is available. Use the App on a trusted network and stop casting when finished.

8. Children

The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or below a higher age where applicable law requires it, without the necessary authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

9. Third-party services and policy changes

TV manufacturers, TV applications, linked websites, and advertisers have their own privacy practices. This policy covers the App and does not replace their policies.

We may update this policy as the App or our practices change. We will publish the updated policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.
