DLD Innovation Company Limited (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides WatchDoc and its companion application, where available (collectively, “the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Documents and Local Processing
The App processes and stores your imported documents, scanned pages, images, notes, recognized text, bookmarks, reading progress, and related library information locally on your devices.
Document conversion and text recognition take place on your device. We do not operate a document upload server or receive your document library on our servers.
If you enable transfers to a paired Apple Watch, document copies and related information are transferred using Apple’s device connectivity services. Transfers may happen automatically if you enable that setting.
2. Advertising
The iPhone application uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google’s User Messaging Platform to manage advertising consent and privacy choices.
These services may process IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP addresses, device or app identifiers, advertising interactions, app interaction information, crash logs, and performance information. This information may be used for advertising delivery, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and service security.
We do not send your document contents, document names, notes, bookmarks, or search queries to advertising services.
The App does not request access to Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA). Advertising services may still process other information described in this policy.
Where required, the App presents advertising consent choices. Where available, you can review or change these choices through “Ad privacy choices” in the App’s privacy settings.
For more information about Google’s practices, see Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
3. Permissions
Camera access is used when you choose to scan documents.
Photos and files are accessed through system selection tools or when you explicitly open selected content with the App.
If you enable app lock, authentication is handled by the operating system using available device authentication methods. The App receives the authentication result and does not receive your biometric templates or device passcode.
You can manage applicable permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working.
4. Purchases
If purchases or subscriptions are offered, payments are processed by Apple.
The App may access verified transaction information, including purchased products and entitlement status, to enable and restore purchased features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
5. Support Communications
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and attachments.
We use this information to respond to your request, investigate reported issues, and maintain relevant support records. Please avoid sending sensitive documents unless they are necessary for your request.
6. Storage, Backups, and Deletion
Your library remains on your devices until you delete it or it is otherwise removed. Depending on your system settings, app data may be included in device or cloud backups managed by Apple.
Deleting a document on your iPhone removes its local library copy and queues removal from the paired Apple Watch. An offline Watch may retain its copy until the deletion is delivered. Removing only a Watch copy does not delete the iPhone copy.
Deleting content from the App does not delete original files outside the App, exported or shared copies, or existing backups. These copies must be managed separately.
Support information is retained only as reasonably necessary to handle your request, resolve related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Third-party services retain information according to their own policies.
7. Security
The App relies on operating-system protections and available access controls to help protect locally stored information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
App lock and privacy covers restrict visibility of the interface. They do not provide separate encryption for every document.
Importing a password-protected PDF after unlocking it may create readable local copies, page images, and extracted text that are no longer protected by the original PDF password.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage and delete local documents in the App, control applicable permissions through device settings, and change advertising privacy choices where available.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
For requests concerning information held by us, contact contact@dld.asia. Because we do not hold your document library on our servers, we cannot retrieve it remotely.
Where a legal basis is required, processing described in this policy is based on providing requested functionality, our legitimate interests in responding to support requests and maintaining security, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where required.
9. International Processing
Advertising providers and services used to handle support communications may process information outside your country. Information about their processing locations and applicable safeguards is available in their privacy policies.
10. Children’s Privacy
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App or our practices change. Updates will be published with a revised effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
